Leading legal operations association CLOC (Corporate Legal Operations Consortium) has announced a significant expansion of its board and a modernization of its governance structure, marking a historic moment for the organization. Following an extensive nomination and evaluation process spearheaded by the CLOC Nominating Committee, CLOC’s Board is expanding from 11 to 16 directors, the largest increase in its 10-year history.
The 2026 Board will comprise a diverse group of esteemed legal operations leaders, in-house counsel, and technology innovators, poised to drive the long-term strategy and impact of the organization. This expansion represents a crucial step as CLOC aims to incorporate a variety of perspectives from across the legal ecosystem.
For the first time, CLOC is formally including legal service providers alongside its in-house experts. This integration is intended to ensure that a wide range of viewpoints are represented at the decision-making table.

CLOC’s Executive Director, Oyango Snell, emphasized the organization’s mission of inclusivity and collaboration. “CLOC’s mission has always been about inclusivity and collaboration, bringing every corner of the legal ecosystem together to create shared solutions. This slate of directors reflects our commitment to representing a broad range of perspectives across industries, regions, and experiences, and to advancing the practice of legal operations on a truly global scale,” Snell stated.
The expansion of the Board not only broadens its geographic, industry, and functional representation but also includes legal service providers for the first time. In addition, the Board expansion introduces governance changes in line with association best practices, such as the establishment of Board Chair and Chair-Elect roles and a fully volunteer board.
In a move to modernize its internal organizational leadership, CLOC is evolving the Executive Director role into a President & CEO position. This strategic shift aligns with association best practices and is designed to enable CLOC to scale its operations to better support its 6,500 members and ongoing global expansion.
Adam Becker, Co-Chair of the Nominating Committee, expressed enthusiasm about the process and the incoming board members. “As Co-Chair of the Nominating Committee, I am inspired by the passion and commitment of the applicants. Our final slate brings together strong individual leaders who share CLOC’s vision to elevate the profession and empower legal operations professionals to make an impact at every level of the enterprise,” Becker commented.
The incoming Board is scheduled to commence its term in January 2026.
