In a significant move within the legal technology sector, Litera, a prominent $300 million per annum workflow solutions company, has officially launched Lito, an innovative AI agent. Announced on October 27, this cutting-edge tool is available at no cost to clients utilizing Litera’s core offerings, including Litera Draft Base, Pro, Advanced, and Kira. Lito is designed to assist legal professionals in streamlining their tasks, ranging from opening Microsoft Word and sending emails to drafting contracts and managing CRM systems.
Having originally begun as a drafting company a decade ago, Litera has expanded its scope through more than 20 strategic acquisitions, evolving into a comprehensive workflow solution provider for corporate attorneys. Lito serves to integrate these diverse solutions, facilitating a more cohesive user experience.
A New Era in Legal Workflows
Avaneesh Marwaha, CEO of Litera, likens the company’s latest innovation to a restaurant experience. “If you imagine Litera as a restaurant, LiteraOne is the front door, and Lito is the host that saves you from walking around and choosing your meal. It delivers your choices to you and gives you the chance to maximize the time you spend there,” Marwaha explains.
Boasting a clientele of 15,000 and a daily user base of one million, Lito empowers users to navigate the entire Litera ecosystem through solutions such as KIRA, Foundation 365, and Postilize. According to Marwaha, “Lito helps us empower the investments we have made over the years.”
Early Adoption and Impact
Lito has already seen early adoption within the legal community over the past month. Joshua Tan, a partner at Delta Law Corporation, notes that the AI agent significantly reduces time spent on mundane tasks. He adds that Lito provides a “user-friendly interface” for lawyers less familiar with prompting large language models, effectively bypassing this stage.
